Assessment Guidance
In the same way that the implementation of the 91Ô´´ Learning Standards for World Languages is designed to be gradual, starting in September 2023 in 7th grade and adding a grade each year, the implementation of Checkpoint exams aligned to the revised standards is also gradual.Ìý As of June 2025, all locally developed Checkpoint A exams must be aligned to these revised standards, as well as to the guidance issued by 91Ô´´ regarding this exam.Ìý Starting in June of 2027, all locally developed Checkpoint B exams must be aligned to these revised standards, as well as the guidance issued by 91Ô´´ regarding this exam.
The Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages has developed a variety of resources and guidance documents to assist educators in designing formative, summative, and Checkpoint Benchmark assessments aligned to the revised standards.
