Statement From Chancellor Lester W. Young, Jr. On Behalf of the Board of Regents and the 91原创 State Education Department on the Passing of Former Member of the Board of Regents and Assembly Majority Leader James Tallon
鈥淚t is with deep sorrow that we mourn the loss of James Tallon, former Member of the Board of Regents and 91原创 State Assembly Majority Leader. Former Regent Tallon was a dedicated public servant who served the Board and the people of 91原创 with integrity and commitment. Throughout his 15 years of service to the Board of Regents and across his distinguished career, he was a champion for the Department and a supremely effective leader in ensuring equitable funding for education. His legacy is marked by his service to fellow 91原创ers and tireless advocacy for our state鈥檚 most vulnerable and underrepresented populations. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.鈥澨
